Anyone out there?

Thursday, March 17th, 2005

I need to get this blog visited more. I don’t think I have any regular readers. I think the only people who have stopped by are the ones who stumble in with Blog Explosion. But I think it’s difficult to grab onto people when my writing is very specific: just about illustration.

Granted I also just started this blog a little over a week ago. But I’m also an impatient person. I require instant gratification *grin*

I’ll have to think about whether I am going to write more personal “off topic” posts. Maybe people are more interested in that. But we’ll see…

As it is now I have to update my folio. I swear nothing in there is newer than 1 year old. I’m just so busy (read lazy) I haven’t been able to get myself to go through my files and find all my work that I could display there. I think my e-cards are a better representation of my work now, but I really need to get that stuff into my portfolio. I recently put back up some of my old flashes which I used on the splash page of my old site (before I moved here). They’re inspiring, and make me want to create more. But I have a very short fuse when working with flash.

Anyway, that’s enough rambling for now. If you are a reader, please comment and say hi just so I know somone’s reading my thoughts. :)

  1. Hi there :-) Blog explosion sent me here- but I did look around a bit and like your work – very happy :-) The shades of me girl looks like me lol :-) Hair’s a bit longer.

Just wanted to say hi and offer encouragement!

  3. You don’t need to ask for audiences with the drawings you have… I saw your ad on BlogEx and (drumrolls, please) I clicked! I love your drawings! Do you use Adobe Illustrator? (I might find an answer on the site while I browse. If I do, sorry about this redundant question) Keep it up!

  4. Greetings from Malaysia.
Love your drawings!! Have bookmarked your page. Will be coming back to send more e-cards in future =D

  5. Consider this instant gratification. hehe

I am the same. Feel like no-one is reading my blog, just waiting for their 30 seconds and clicking past.. I feel your pain.

  6. Hi,
I wondered in here through BlogExplosion as well. Where in NJ were you? I’m in Sussex County (NW Jersey).

  7. Hang in there, one week isn’t enough time to guage a fan base, lol. Good luck with your blog, and btw, I found you through BE…

  8. If you’re interested, I might have connections to people who would like your work for cards. We can connect through LinkedIN. If you want more people to see your blog, I’ve found this one helpful. Have a great day!

  9. Saying hi, from one who understands your sentiment as well as your impatience. Well, I’ve learned to be patient. No instant noodles in blogging, especially if you are topic-specific that’s for sure. I write about astrology and cats. My cat pictures almost always rake in the comments. Unfortunately not so with posts about astrology.

  10. Nice Site! Great Illustrations!

I admire your abilities. While I LOVE my career in fashion design, I am not a great artist…i can sketch just well enough to express my design ideas…

    visit my blog sometime:

  11. Hi! Dropped in via BE, but have been here a bit looking around, because I understand your blog dilemna and thought I would share my experience, FWIW.

I’m an artist currently working in mixed media and I keep a blog. I’m 40, owrking on my masters in art and I teach Art Appreciation at the college level. More and more, my life is all about art, so, after about 3 years of blogging, I sorted my politics to one blog and my personal, private thoughts to a small, journaling community online.

I am something of a radical socially and politically, so sorting these out keeps from worrying too much about keeping my life private and my art “out there” for anyone, including my students. (though, I know people can find what they look for, lol!)

Also, my family-who do not share many of politics do not have to listen to my rantings any more than they want to.

Keeping my “art” blog focused helps keep me focused as well.

Soooo.. those are my thoughts. No advice, just my experience if you can use it.

    Nice start here! Good Luck!

  12. you’ve got more readers than you think. keep up the good work.

  13. I’m out here. :) I love the layout of your site… :) Look forward to hearing details of your wedding!

  14. Hi there. I also came here thru Blog Explosion and I love your illustrations! As someone who has a blog & website design company I am always looking for illustrations like this. I’m not sure if you are up for anyone actually using your illustrations in blog designs but if you are open to it there are a few I’m interested in (the illustrator always gets a link in the sidebar of the blog the creation is used on, whenever possible). If not thats fine too but thought I would let you know I like your work very much!

    Have a good weekend!
