Lil’ Miss Death

Sunday, October 2nd, 2005

I finally saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory today. It took a while for it to come out in Sweden (they have to dub it for the children, but they show the English version as well). And wow did I love it! I was expecting to enjoy it, but I was also bracing myself for a bit of disappointments. But I wasn’t disappointed at all! Johnny Depp did wonderful, as usual, and I think Tim Burton did an awesome job with the whole thing. The imagery was amazing.

I came home and felt the need to draw something Tim Burton inspired…

I really love Tim Burton’s style. I love the complete fantasy of it all. Like you’re in a dream. It reminds me of how my dreams always are. Always a little creepy, even if you don’t know why. Something dark lurking somewhere. Something in the back of your mind telling you something isn’t “right” here.

He’s an incredible “artist.” I wonder what it’s like inside his head…

  2. I really enjoyed the movie too. Sure made me feel happy like a kid again.

Actually, I had my reservations about Johnny Depp at first, but he sure did a great job.

Take care, and btw how’s the ankle?

  3. I appologize if my SB antics upset you. I was just having fun. You are right your fathers cancer is terrible news and i’m sorry he is going through it.

The SB is mostly a friendly community, such bad news can be lessoned through others with similar experiences. I wish you father luck (i’d say prays but I’m agnostic)

  4. I imagine it’s pretty squishy inside his head, with all the brain matter and stuff.

Li’l Miss Death is adorable (in a creepy sorta way). She would make a great character for a spooky Halloween book for children.

  5. This is a such a great character. You should totally run with this and create a littel storyline for her. She does resemble a Tim Burton style…that guy is definitely a master of his craft.
